Job Description:
You will be responsible for looking after the bookkeeping and VAT return preparation for a range of clients. Duties for the Bookkeeper role will include:
As a Bookkeeper you will be responsible for purchase ledger and sales ledger maintenance
Invoicing
Aged creditor reporting and analysis
Completing reconciliations and adjustments
Preparing and submitting VAT returns under various VAT schemes and advising clients of the liabilities
Hitting account deadlines
As a Bookkeeper you will be responsible for completing self-assessment returns and inputting on HMRC website
Maintaining client recordsCandidate requirements for the Bookkeeper role:
Ideally AAT qualified although QBE will be considered
Experience in a similar bookkeeping role within an accountancy practice ideally, although someone from industry who is used to working at fast pace in a busy role will be considered
Experience using Xero and Sage accounting software
Comfortable communicating with a wide range of clients to gather the records and resolve queries independently
The ability to make some 'management accounts' adjustments is advantageous (understanding accruals, prepayments, depreciation etc)
Excellent IT skills
Good organisation, time management and keen to learnHours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Negotiable dependent on experience
