This is a great time to join as we are opening a brand-new site in South Yorkshire and you will have the opportunity as General Manager to lead and build the team that will launch and grow our purpose-built site. This is a key role within the senior management team at Advanced with accountability for operations and customer service as well as full P&L responsibility.

The key responsibilities of our General Manager role include:
- Taking full leadership, operational and financial responsibility for managing a safe, efficient and profitable site for the organisation and customer
- Delivering a service to our customers that is "Better, Faster & Cheaper" giving us the competitive edge and making us stand out from the competition
- Maximising the contribution of the site departments and functions while balancing multiple and competing requirements
- Anticipating and being agile to changes in customer requirements and if needed deliver innovative solutions
- Delivering through engagement and planning a high performing team and a values-based culture
- Working collaboratively with all support teams to successfully achieve customer and people excellence
- Recruiting, leading, developing and managing the team to successfully achieve and exceed business objectives
- Identifying and implementing initiatives to continually improve operational processes, aligned to our growth strategy
What we need from our General Manager?
- Experience of leading teams in fast paced 3PL environment
- Experience of new site setup and implementation
- Motivator with high energy and enthusiasm
- Experience in using innovation and technology to make a difference to customers and drive continuous improvement
- Ability to develop operational capability and capacity by engaging employees at all levels within operations
- Team player who brings together people to deliver excellent results
- Commercial expertise with ability to analyse complex data and make decisions
- Excellent communicator and ability to manage key stakeholders
- Understanding of financial budgets, P&L, planning and productivities
