Cost and Management Accountant
The ideal Cost and Management Accountant Main Purpose:
Are you a qualified Accountant with the ability to implement and monitor cost saving initiatives and contribute to a high growing firm's results?
This opportunity is not for a finance manager who wishes to take a backseat in their career, this position has been created to suit a pro-active qualified accountant who is able to implement new systems and controls to suit this growing business and to improve efficiencies and profitability.
The ideal candidate will sit at the head of the finance and accounting function and act as financial counsel to senior management, providing accurate and timely management information in order to make informed commercial decisions.
Cost and Management Accountant key tasks:
*Review and implementation of internal financial systems and controls to improve efficiency and provide the framework for further growth
*Preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting back on a timely basis.
*Review margins and profitability by product and product range.
*Finance cost reduction and process improvement.
*Performing accurate monthly and ongoing balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial reporting.
*Monthly factoring reconciliations.
*Reporting to the bank including reporting on financial covenants.
*Working with the company's external accountants on strategic planning, cash flow analysis, and tax planning.
*HMRC reporting, including preparation and submission of VAT returns.
*Review of working capital requirements to consider stock volumes, bank funding requirements, and ongoing cash flow monitoring and forecasting.
*Present management reports in a consistent, cohesive, and comprehensible way, both in written reports and formal presentations.
*Ensuring that a robust financial control environment exists, and that all systems and reporting operate to the highest standards with financial data accuracy being key.
*Assistance with company insurance policies - Commercial combined, vehicles, marine, property.
*Review all company utilities - gas, electric, water and telephones etc???
*Company currently uses Sage accounting software but open to other ideas and review to best suit company and its growth plans.
Cost and Management Accountant Requirements
*Minimum 3 years' accountancy experience in either practice or industry with the ability to support and understand the business financially as well as commercially.
*Excellent numerate and statistical analysis skills, with high attention to detail.
*Demonstrate financial awareness and current knowledge with an appreciation of the financial consequences flowing from commercial decisions, internal policy changes and exogenous factors.
*The ability to analyse problems from a variety of angles and support the Management team in Business planning for future requirements.
*Excellent organizational and communication skills across all departments and levels.
*Capable of working on own initiative and proactively as part of a team.
*Hard working, productive and can build effective relationships.
*Creative, self-confident, and assertive, with the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
*Excellent time management skills with a strong sense of leadership and inspiration.
*Team player, with the ability to portray a positive attitude to maintain the team's enthusiasm and drive.
Excellent soft skills - including listening, motivating, and communicating.
Finance Manager Qualifications
1) Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
2) Advanced knowledge of Microsoft suite including Access and Excel
