Square Peg Associates are working with one of the North West's leading accountancy and business advisory practices who have been established within the local area for over 90 years, who are seeking a Tax Assistant to join their Accounts Team.
Our client is a vibrant and dynamic firm of Chartered Accountants, with multiple offices based in the Greater Manchester and Lancashire region.
An opportunity has arisen to join the growing tax team as a Assistant.
Job Duties:
To work as part of the tax team providing an excellent tax service to business clients. To follow company procedures, prevailing legislation and good professional practice exceeding clients' expectations and needs.
* Managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients and partnerships, preparing tax returns and providing corporate tax advice and support.
* Working with tax and general practice team members to provide excellent, joined up service to clients.
* Managing own work to budget and raising fees to clients.
* Identifying tax planning opportunities for clients and working with tax managers and partner to advise.
Ideal Tax Assistant should:
* Have experience within an accountancy practice in a Tax role, with corporate tax experience. However, the position will be adapted to suit the right candidate.
* Be familiar with the use of recognised software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and a tax return software package).
* Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Have good organisational skills as well as the ability to take initiative and contribute to the effective running of the department.
