Title - Buyer FM & Corporate Services
Duration - 12-month contract
Rate - GBP25-30 p/h (Inside IR35)
Job profile
The role covers all commercial aspects of the acquisition of goods and services up to a maximum of ???100k within a given category of spend. Buyers will be responsible for the implementation of sourcing and supplier management activities pursuant to specific requirements of internal business partners and to deliver in year value from rigorous application of standard procurement practices.
Buyers will collaborate with project specific stakeholders to ensure change management is efficient and effective to guarantee sustainable value delivery as well as supplier performance. 'Customer' service is a key component of the role and Buyers must have excellent communication skills as well as working knowledge of key technical competencies relating to procurement transactional planning, commercial contract management and supplier relationship management. Buyers will provide the first line of supplier performance management activities to ensure sustainable and secure supply of goods and services to support ongoing safe and effective operation
Responsibilities
Apply the standard Procurement/strategic sourcing processes to purchases as defined by Senior Buyers/Category Managers from RFx, through supplier selection to order placement and completion. Liaises with Senior Buyers to assess if requirements can be fulfilled by existing or
extended contracts.
Active contribution to the ongoing development of functional capabilities to
ensure value delivery is sustainable in the long term and functional effectiveness and efficiencies is improved on a continual basis.
Undertake as defined, personal development plans and education requirements to transition to the role of Senior Buyer within agreed timeframes.
Undertake commercial negotiations with relevant suppliers and liaise with stakeholders and legal to ensure favourable commercial terms which mitigate business risk.
Ensure accuracy of data and documentation recorded in key systems to
enable compliance and adherence to policies as well as enable efficient P2P processing, focusing on PR/PO placement to improve spend visibility.
Supports Senior Buyers and Category Managers in the development of category plans by undertaking bespoke pieces of research/investigation and offering insights to support strategy development
Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships, monitoring performance of suppliers to meet their needs and ensuring Procurement service provision achieves the required standards of servicesCandidate overview
