Customer Service Apprentice

If the job title "Customer Service Advisor" conjures up an image of a call centre, then let us assure you, our Advisors do not work in a call centre environment. We encourage flexible working from both the home and the office, and the work is very varied so our Advisors are not on the phone all day, every day. Our team of Advisors are customer service professionals, who are passionate about delivering an exceptional service to our customers. We want the team to be fulfilled by the work they do and ultimately, enjoy coming to work for British Gypsum every day. Moreover, we're keen to share our passion, knowledge and experience by providing this opportunity for an apprentice to join our team and achieve their Level 2 Customer Service Practioner qualification.

Who are we looking for?

Our Customer Service Advisors have an enthusiastic team spirit; are knowledgeable about the products and services we offer; are good at multi-tasking and problem-solving and most importantly of all, enjoy talking to customers and colleagues, and have a genuine interest in people and developing relationships. There is a lot of variety and opportunities for continual development within the role and the team. Typical activities include: -

Receiving and processing sales orders received over the phone and electronically
Working closely with other internal departments including sales and distribution to ensure the customer is keep fully up to date regarding their order, and ensuring they receive the best service possible
Dealing with customer enquiries, amending orders and working to build strong, long-lasting customer relationships
Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities and generating ideas to improve the service offered to our customers and/or the efficiency of our internal processes
After your initial first 6 months with the business, you will begin your Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship. During this course, which lasts a minimum of 12 months, you will learn about our customers, customer service skills and behaviours, systems, product and service knowledge.
The majority of your learning will be on the job, but you will also need to study independently for a few hours a week to reinforce your new skill set. Upon completion of the course, you will be awarded your recognised apprenticeship qualification.Requirements

Confidence using digital systems and processes
