Berneslai Homes has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Manager with procurement and management experience to join our team based at Carlton Depot in Barnsley, with the option to also work agilely. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis (37 hours per week) and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of GBP43,857 to GBP46,845 per annum.

The role:

As our Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for the management and development of all aspects of procurement, including strategies, policies and procedures. You will lead the Procurement and Stores teams and contribute to the ongoing drive for efficiently and improvement.

You will also have the responsibility of presenting and communicating your reports on all procurement and stores activity to our Construction Services Senior Management Team (CS SMT), Executive Management Team (EMT), Board and Audit Committee. Strong communication skills, confidence and knowledge to constructively challenge poor performance from suppliers, contractors are key to your success!

Key duties and responsibilities of our Procurement Manager:

- Lead on the strategic development of procurement activity within the company.

- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Procurement Policy and associated procurement procedures, providing support, guidance, professional procurement advice and training.

- Develop a programme of prioritised procurement initiatives.

- Develop and maintain systems of governance, responsibility and accountability for all procurement activity in the company.

- Lead on the modernise for the delivery of the Procurement, Purchasing and Stores function.

- Ensure that all stock takes, and stock checks are carried out in a timely manner.

- Ensure and embed within the company the proactive management and monitoring of supplier contracts.

- Prepare contract documentation and advice on tender specifications, develop evaluation criteria and advise and guide on tendering processes during colleague consultations.

- Monitor and ensure the key actions included in the annual Procurement Strategy Action Plan are achieved.

- Ensure effective arrangements and training for the Health & Safety of staff are in place within Stores.

- Maintain up to date specialist knowledge of legislation, standards, and best practice relevant to Procurement.

- Report to CS SMT, EMT, Board and Audit Committee on all Procurement and Stores activities as and when required.

Qualifications and Experience we're looking for in our Procurement Manager:

- A degree or equivalent level qualification

- Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS)

- Strong up-to-date procurement knowledge gained through experience.

- Experience of working with IT systems and software packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke databases.
