To effectively manage inbound supply in excess of 1 million tonnes of waste wood to meet the demand of outbound supply to contracted power stations, identifying any risks in the supply chain whilst maintaining profit levels as per targets and budgets.

You will manage the Sales and Procurement team and will work in line with targets, budgets and KPI's to ensure continuity of supply and be accountable for any variances to budget. It is essential to be a team player as you will need to work efficiently with our transport and operations departments to fully utilise the fleet, whilst managing stock levels across our site nationwide, identifying areas of shortfall or downturns in volume which could jeopardise current and future supply.

You must be well organised and have the ability to adapt quickly to change and manage multiple areas, sites and suppliers. You must be pro-active and forward thinking to identify risks coming down the line.
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
Working Schedule: Monday to Friday

This role will be located in Widnes, there may be some obligation to travel and meet customers, but the role will be mostly office based. Current COVID restrictions mean we are operating in a flexible office and a working from home environment but eventually there will be a move back to full office working with an element of flexibility if needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a supply and demand forecast and identifying risks such as increase or downturn in volume and destocking of sites.
  • Producing weekly reports showing variances against budget, identifying won and lost tonnage as well as customer trends impacting the tonnage and gate fee.
  • Developing new opportunities, assist with pricing spot market and providing guidance to the team.
  • Maintaining contracted supplier based and re-negotiating contracts as required whilst gaining necessary approval.
  • Monitoring supply base with the team and assisting with any queries from team.
  • Be in close communications with site managers to plan future supply and deal with any issues with may arise which impact supply to power stations.
  • Ensure team members are keeping systems fully up to date with pricing, tickets, conversations with customers, and are operating in a fully compliant way that satisfies our duty of care.
  • Communicate with our transport divisions, notifying them of upcoming work to ensure best utilisation for the fleet.
  • During staff leave/absence, assist with answering calls and producing tickets.
