Accounts Payable Manager

IN2 Consult - Accounts Payable Manager - Bedford - GBP35,000 to GBP40,000 Per annum - AAT Qualified, experenced supervising at least 5 AP specialists.

I am currently supporting a reputable, growing business in the Bedford area that is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join their finance function. Primarily looking after 5 Accounts Payable specialists with the idea to add into that team and grow it to a bigger size.

Responsibilities:

Managing both an onsite an offsite team
Managing the teams performance
Maintaining the company-wide payment targets - 85% invoice paid Ensuring supplier statements are valid, accurate and on time.
Providing periodic reporting and oversight of all AP transactions
Invoice review - review invoice documents and formats, ensure valid tax invoices
Query resolution
Monitor open AP and review payment runs
Maintain business confidentiality
Creating and maintaining process, procedure and training documentation
Reviewing and improving all UK P2P processes
The position may be required to support wider team tasks that include:

Auditing expenses
Posting of journals and month end tasks
Required Skills:

Proven track record in a similar finance or AP role
Understanding of VAT and tax document rules
Understanding of basic accounting norms - double entry, general ledgers and sub-ledgers
Great interpersonal skills and judgement for dealing with both internal and external stakeholders
The ability to communicate, negotiate and influence effectively
Enthusiastic self-starter
Desired Skills:

An accounting qualification - AAT, part qualified accountant or business studies
Accounting experience
Advanced Excel skills
Reporting and analytic tool experience
