OnPoint Recruitment are currently seeking a skilled Pallet Network Supervisor to work within a network department. This role will suit someone who has previous experience of working within a pallet network business, can deal with a large volume of calls and messages and understands the importance of collaborative working. Daily you will be dealing with our local delivery drivers, other depots and customers.
This role will only suit someone who has excellent local geographical knowledge and understands vehicle routing and vehicle earnings. The successful applicant will enjoy a great starting salary and a progressive career with excellent financial rewards throughout.
* Route planning and scheduling each night of the following days deliveries
* Plan vehicles routes efficiently with vehicle sizes and weights in mind
* Plan local collections daily
* Keeping up to date with transport issues and dealing with changes to the days schedules
* Managing fleet of rigids and artics in and around Staffordshire/Cheshire, using their in house software, email and telephone
* Ensure the company fleet is consistently generating profit through cost effective planning
* Communicate fleet availability and issues to the whole team
* Liaising with hauliers, drivers and colleagues to ensure on time deliveries
* Notification of any delays to the customer or depots
* Resolve customer/depot/driver queries/delivery issues
* To take responsibility and ownership of the fleet operations ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe and legal manner. Monitor operations to ensure that all drivers comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, and regulations including updating the load plan where required
* Provide a positive and encouraging atmosphere at all times to ensure all staff work to the best of their abilities
* Pre-brief and de-brief drivers on their daily runs throughout the day
* Record collection/delivery status and discrepancies in systems and escalate where appropriate
* Troubleshooting critical transport related issues as they arise in a live environment
Previous Experience with:
* Previous experience of working in a family business run transport operation. Previous experience of planning routes for a pallet network. Previous experience with a TMS based planning tools. Supervisory experience - Essential. Full understanding of current commercial vehicle legislation. Have worked in Logistics & planning previously, or a minimum of 2 years in a similar role

Computer literate with strong knowledge of MS Office

A flexible approach to work, willing to carry out varied tasks reliably and accurately

Experience within a multi drop, general haulage or pallet network environment
the ability to keep up with a changing load plan and make quick decisions as and when changes are required - Essential
Excellent decision making skills, a high level of initiative and able to prioritise and problem solve
A good ability to learn new IT Platforms and operate across various software
