Residential Care Manager required for a residential school for children and young persons aged 4-19 years with autism whom may have additional learning difficulties and behaviours that challenge.

As Residential Care Manager, your main focus is to create a safe, caring and nurturing environment for resident young people. You will lead the residential staff team to have a specific focus on preparing young people for adult life and will work closely with parents and families to ensure that each young person's support needs are fully met. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, your work will help to secure and maintain an 'Outstanding' judgement over the coming years for the quality of residential care provided for all pupils. Under the direction of the Principal you will lead and manage a Deputy Manager, Team Leaders and Residential Care Workers. Critical monitoring, evaluation and innovation are key aspects of the role in helping the school to become a centre of excellence in autism education, care and support.

Requirements:

* At least five years' experience in a residential childcare setting within the last five years

* Knowledge and demonstrable experience of implementing the National Minimum Care Standards for Residential special Schools (NMSRSS)

* At least 3 years' experience of supervising and managing professional staff

* Knowledge and demonstrable experience of good regulatory outcomes with Ofsted social care inspections

* Experience of working with children aged 8-19 with complex autism and behaviours that challenge

* Experience of carrying out administrative duties such as filing, recording, rota preparation and report writing

The successful applicant will need to have had a wide range of experience as a child care practitioner having managed teams in a residential school setting. A Level 5 Diploma is essential to this role.
