REED Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering & Manufacturing Company with a global client base.
IMPORT EXPORT ADMINISTRATOR - 6 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT working directly for the company
Job Summary
Responsible for the import/export documentation and administration duties and corresponding accounting reporting. Responsible for all transactional export/import compliance and coordination with applicable laws and regulations. Working to deadlines for ensuring all export shipping documentation is prepared to meet customer demands.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Including but not exclusive to:
* Internal liaison with the sales team, assisting with quotations and service information.
* Actively involved in negotiating with carriers such as shipping lines, air lines & cargo consolidators to move freight at the best cost when cost is for the company to pay
* Complete all export shipping and import documentation, coordination and associated administrative tasks including reviewing for accuracy and electronic storage of information.
* Responsible for collecting and reviewing import & export Customs entries, ensuring Customs procedures are met and the cargo is cleared on time and documented
* Involved in processing of all export and import requirements - including maintaining usage of OGEL's and individual export licenses
* Ensure all compliance to legal standards for Duty and Customs control including documentation.
Any ad-hoc duties that may occur
Skills, Experience & Qualification
Desirable Requirements:
* Effective communication skills, both internal and external contacts
* Proficiency in excel
* Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines and deliver accurate information
* Flexible working approach to achieve targets and deadlines
Demonstrable Experience of:
* Working with imports/exports previously in either a manufacturing or logistics setting
Qualities & Attributes
* Flexible and Teamwork qualities
* Effective communication skills
* An organised methodical approach to working in an a fast pace environment
