GK Apprenticeships are recruiting on behalf of Fotech Solutions, one of the original developers of DAS (Distributed Acoustic Sensing) technology.
With technology that can be found in over 25 countries worldwide, they are part of Launchpad, BP's business-builder and ScaleUp Factory. They are part of an ambitious mission to build five billion-dollar businesses, tackling the dual-energy challenge by 2025.
Through the talent and strength of their people, by 2025, they intend to provide world-leading flexible and fully scalable software solutions, integrating high performing sensors designed for low capital deployment.
They are currently looking for an IT Solutions Technician Apprentice to join their team and undertake a Level 3 IT Solutions Technician apprenticeship.
What will I be doing?
As an IT Solutions Technician Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to take the lead on driving forward the company's IT systems and processes.
You will also help to shape the employee IT experience for our global team by working with the team at Fotech, the tech team at Launchpad and a number of IT support partners.
Specifically, you will learn how to:
- Manage business systems, including IT support tickets and escalations
- Manage Dynamics 365 license requests and issue triage with the external support teams
- Improve and maintain the hardware and software asset inventory
- Maintain the Active Directory system
- Manage IT systems service health
- Review and implement IT systems security controls
- Produce IT training materials
- Produce and/or review systems architecture designs
- Build and maintain reports in SharePoint, PowerBI, Azure DevOps and other tools
- Lead the migration of data from on-premises to Cloud
What do I need?
To be considered as an IT Solutions Technician Apprentice, you'll need:
- At a minimum, GCSEs at Grade 4 / C or above
- A passion for technology (IT/computing)
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
- Demonstrable proactive and organised approach to work
- A team player mentality and the ability to build and maintain your own networks to learn from the technical expertise around you
- To be a clear communicator
- The drive to learn new things, broaden knowledge, and make a real positive difference
Knowledge of multiple Operation Systems at least at user level is highly desirable. An understanding of computer languages would also be highly beneficial.
Other organisations may call this role Apprentice IT Support Technician, Trainee Product Support Technician, Junior IT Support Technician, Apprentice Technical Support Analyst, Trainee IT Support Advisor, or Junior Product Support Specialist.
This role would be suitable for those considering an IT Apprenticeship, IT Internship, or Technical Apprenticeship.

First stage interviews for this role will be held on the 28th April 2021. The anticipated start date is the 17th - 24th May 2021.
