We are seeking to complement our existing team based in Harlow with the appointment of an apprentice stock controller. The Stock Controller Apprenticeship Role
Working as a member of our local procurement team, the Stock Controller role will support the site at which you are based whilst upholding the company wide National procurement strategy. Within this role you will gain varied exposure to wider procurement tasks and scenarios whilst focussing on ensuring that correct stock levels are ordered and held for customers. You will join us on an apprenticeship contract, studying to obtain a relevant 'standard' (CIPS accredited) qualification, whereby full 'on the job' training and mentoring shall be provided. It is our intention that if all goes to plan and both parties are satisfied, the successful completion of apprenticeship period should result in the offer of a permanent contract of employment.
The Stock Controller Apprenticeship Key Duties
* To purchase standard and non-standard stock items, maintaining cost effective stock levels
* Develop a sound understanding of the total supply chain function
* Actively seek to reduce stock holding and material costs
* To ensure that purchasing transactions are carried out in the timeliest and most cost effective manner
* Administer purchase orders and all other associated administration
* Liaise with existing suppliers and source alternative suppliers when necessary
* Develop awareness of the profit implication of stock holding costs, including redundant and damaged stock
* Work in partnership with the Logistic and Warehouse team to optimise stock holding volumes and ensure customer needs are met.
* Develop and maintain a good knowledge of all packaging solutions
Do you have the correct profile?

It would also help if a career within procurement/purchasing is something that may interest you. Prior experience of procurement/stock-control (whilst a bonus) is not required. We do seek strong computer literacy (MS Office), effective communication skills & strong attention to detail. As this is an apprenticeship contract, you must be happy to commit to an 18-month (approx.) learning plan. Applicants will have GCSE grades Maths & English A-C level, or in the absence of this, a willingness to sit a functional-skills exam to gain level 2 qualification in the missing subject(s)
