Sewing Machinist

Central Employment are currently recruiting for experienced Sewing Machinists to work in a busy furniture manufacturer based in Gateshead.
This is a temp to perm vacancy after 12 weeks. Working ours will be Monday to Friday 8am-4pm with occasional overtime.
Desired Knowledge and Experience :
??Experience of upholstery sewing
??The ability to work in a fast paced environment
??industrial sewing experience is required with a good knowledge of various sewing techniques
??Zips Experience in cutting fabrics
??Knowledge of different fabrics types
??Ability to follow sewing specifications
??Good hand to eye coordination
??Good sewing and fine finishing techniques
??Ability to use industrial sewing machine and perform basic machine maintenance i.e. changing needle and thread and cleaning the machine
??The ability to follow good sewing practices and company methods of work
??Good communication skills
??Good analytical skills and attention to detail i.e. quality standards
Candidates should have the following qualities and capabilities:
??Hardworking and organised
??Proactive and self-motivated (working independently is key)
??Problem solving
??Experience in high degree of upholstery and furniture building
??Experience is desirable but full training can also be given.
