Spencer Clarke Group are working closely alongside Enfield Council to provide them a with a Senior Finance Officer - Deputyship Service to join their team on a Contract Basis!
Your Role
We have an exciting opportunity that has arisen within our Deputyship team. We are looking for an experienced Appointee/Deputyship Officer to provide support to individuals who have been assessed under the Mental Capacity Act to lack the capacity to manage their own finances.
The Deputyship Officer role is both challenging and rewarding. The post holder will manage their own caseload which includes controlling the day-to-day finances and properties for people for whom the Council has been appointed Deputy for Property and Affairs or Corporate Appointee. The successful candidate will need to have knowledge of the workings of the Court of Protection, experience preparing applications for the Court of Protection, investigating finances, applying for appropriate DWP benefits, dealing with debtors and creditors and supporting people to use their income and assets in their best interests.
The applicant must also be numerate and have good communication skills. Our ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic person who can prioritise their own workload but equally support fellow team members as required.
An enhanced DBS 'Disclosure and Barring Service' check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Adults' Barred List checks will be required for this role.
