SEND Teaching Assistants / Support Workers - Blackpool

GBP65 - GBP75 per day. Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are experience in a similar role or working with children with additional needs.

Vision for Education are currently working with a number of special education schools across the Blackpool area to recruit Teaching Assistants and Support Workers for ongoing placements. Candidates for these roles will ideally have worked within a SEND education-based setting and have experience as a teaching assistant, however the schools will consider people with a background in care and support working with young people who have passion, motivation, and commitment to making a difference to young people's lives.

The role

Teaching Assistants are required to work alongside the class teacher assisting with the delivery of the lesson. You will be providing either one to one or small group support and you will be responsible for keeping pupils engaged in learning whilst managing some of the challenging behaviour that pupils present with.

The School

Schools across this area range from small stand-alone schools to larger group schools and you will be working with children with a wide range of additional needs and disabilities.

Requirements

To be considered for this teaching assistant position, you will:

Have experience working with young people with additional needs and disabilities, ideally in an education setting.
Have a caring nature and the ability to form relationships with "hard-to-reach" students.
Be adaptable and versatile, altering the support provided to the needs of each child.
Someone who creates a stimulating learning environment for the children.
Someone with great patience, drive and determination
