We have an exciting opportunity for an Actuary to join our financial services client (UK based) on a 12 month DRC working across their IFRS17 Programme.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively across the IFRS17 programme; analysing, developing and challenging the implementation and reporting of the transitional balance sheet, ensuring UK accounting/actuarial treatment papers are produced that are compliant with the IFRS 17 standard
Responsibilities:
- Building a close working relationship with the data team, IFRS17 model development team, Business As Usual modelling team and Capital Methodology team; ensuring a consistent and collaborative approach to the restatement of the opening balance sheet for IFRS17
- Understanding and explaining the transitional results to senior stakeholders and external auditors; assessing the potential consequences of the changes in methodology, approaches or assumptions used to calculate the transitional balance sheet
- Involvement in the preparation, review and challenge of transitional balance sheet produced for inclusion in IFRS17 Dry Runs
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
This role will require both solid actuarial reporting experience as well as previous experience working in fast paced and demanding change environment.
- Previous experience working on/exposure to IFRS17 is essential
- Extensive UK actuarial reporting experience
- Experience and skills in managing change, including rule interpretation and seeking solutions
- Insurance experience, including product knowledge and the implications for actuarial modelling
- Excellent Excel & Prophet modelling skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills & attention to detail
- Financial reporting experience - SII, IFRS
- Experience of building relationships, managing and influencing stakeholders across the business
- Ability to collaborate with other programme team members and drive delivery to successful outcome
