Systems Engineer, Edinburgh, AWS
An ambitious, rapidly-expanding, ethical supply company are looking to increase their development team as a response to the on-going growth; by hiring a Systems Engineer - someone who can understand the technical needs of the business as well as the systems architecture. They will then propose and implement solutions with the development team. The individual will become part of a team whose aim is to help tackle the increasingly prevalent issue that is the treatment of our environment.
Systems Engineer, Edinburgh, AWS, Tasks;
- Learning the business & the technologies
- Designing solutions to business problems
- Proposing those solutions
- Following up and making those solutions happen
- Managing tickets through Jira, organising them into manageable releases
- Mentoring developers
- Testing, bug finding and troubleshooting
- Documentation
- Managing AWS setup
Systems Engineer, Edinburgh, AWS, Essential Skills;
- Experience of designing full-stack architectures - experience with a JavaScript framework like React, ember or Vue and python
- An API-first approach
- Ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Strong foundation in security best practices
- Experience working with agile methodologies such as Scrum
- Git
- Experience developing on AWS (Lambda, SNS/SQS, S3, DynamoDB and CloudFormation)
- Understanding of Microservice architectures
