Defour Partnership is working with their client to recruit for a Service Leader for a leading National Social Care Charity in the Clackmannanshire area.

About The Role

We have a new, rare and exciting opportunity for a caring, compassionate and professionally talented Service Leader to join our experienced, established and expanding management team in Perth and Forth Valley.

As a Service Leader you will work with the Mobilisation Manager and Business Partners to set up a new and bespoke development in the Clackmannanshire Area for 7-8 individuals with complex care and support needs, including learning disabilities, Autism and/or mental health concerns. You will use creative thinking and Assistive Technology to transition people from a long stay hospital environment into their own homes to learn to live independently at home and access their community. Considerable knowledge and experience of working with this client group in an independent living setting and in the local community is essential. Knowledge and/or experience of successfully mobilising new services and using Assistive Technology would be advantageous. As the need in the area grows, you will manage other complex care services and teams of Advanced Support Workers and/or Support Workers across multi-sites aligned to the Service Model.

As Service Leader you will lead and manage the team to deliver the best person-centred care and support possible. You will have previous experience of managing services and teams within a social care setting. Being a learning disability nurse and/or having obtained an equivalent qualification is highly advantageous. A current driving license is essential.

As the Service Leader you will report to the Regional Manager and will be responsible for the daily management of services and your staff teams. You will be responsible for ensuring staff teams are suitably trained, well supported and supervised, having the tools to carry out their role to the best of their ability. You will also be responsible and accountable for the 24-hour management of the services, ensuring that all aspects of support and service delivery is focused on meeting the needs and preferences of the people we support. This includes having involvement in the creation and auditing of care and support, risk assessments and other safe systems of work.

About You

The successful candidate will have effective communication, leadership, coaching and mentoring skills. You will be responsible for working with both internal and external partners including other healthcare professionals and family members. You will also be committed to person-centred planning, supporting positive risk taking and best practice for individual reviews.

This role will involve aspect of potentially overseeing multiple teams and so a flexible and fast paced approach to staff management will be required.

The successful candidate will be required to register with the SSSC if they are not already registered or hold an appropriate registration. You will also be required to have or undertake an SVQ 4 or equivalent qualification to meet the conditions of their registration.
