We are recruiting in our Manchester Depot for Skilled HGV Mechanics/Technicians to support expansion of our workshops and manage our fleet repairs inhouse for the Culina Group.

Key Responsibilities:

To Inspect and maintain Our HGV Fleet to comply with legal &Company standands.

Prepare vehicles for MOT Testing and transport to Test Centre.

To record vehicle defects and keep accurate records of work carried out on each vehicle.

Repair Minor Accident Damage .

Carry out Fault Diagnosis.

The successful HGV Mechanic/Technician will have the ability to work under pressure, to actively seek solutions to problems. Good verbal communication skills. Providing excellent customer service is paramount.

The candidate will work as part of a close team of 8 on site at our Trafford Park Depot.Ability to work alone and as part of a team is a key requirement.

Scania Pton 6 x 2 rigid, refrigerated

Mercedes 1843 4x2 tractor unit
Mercedes 2548 6x2 tractor unit
Volvo FM11 tractor unit
Daf CF 85 tractor unit

10.6m refrigerated box trailer
13.6m refrigerated box trailer
13.6m refrigerated curtainside trailer

Tail lifts
Palfinger - Column lift
Dholandia - Column lift

Commercial experience on HGV's is essential.
Qualifications required City & Guilds part 1 & 2 &3/ BTEC / IMI in motor vehicle management or equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry.

No more than 6 points on Driving Licence-NO DR/IN codes.

The role is working on a 6 week rota on a shift rotation basis 07.30-16.30 week 1 and Noon-21.30 week 2, to include in 6 week rota working 2x saturdays, 2 x Sundays and 2 clear weekends off, Flexibility is required to cover Holiday and Sickness.

The role is weekly paid based on a 39 hour contract,

Additional hours are paid at overtime rate of 1.5 Basic Hourly Rate

Saturdays are paid at 1.5 Hourly Rate & Sunday paid at x2 Basic Hourly Rate.

Unsocialable hours payment paid when working between 18.00-21.30 of additional .23% of Basic Hourly Rate.

28 Days Paid Holiday and Life Assurance and Pension.
