Self Help Community Housing Association offer people who have experienced homelessness the chance of a better future through housing, support and advice. If you want to help change people's lives we want to hear from you.

We are recruiting a new member of our Housing Services team who can provide high quality, professional service to residents in temporary accomodation before moving on to independent living. 

Self Help Community Housing Association have been operating for over 40 years and we are part of Bristol City Council’s commissioned homeless prevention services. We work with people with a range of support needs:  this can include substance abuse; mental health; physical health; criminal offending; debt and money management.

We require candidates who are passionate, professional and solution focused.

Prmary Tasks will include;

To minimise current rent arrears & recover former tenant arrears periodically.
Prepare cases for Court action and represent the Organisation in Court and at evictions.
To carry out regular property visits including communal area and health and safety inspections.
To coordinate and carry out viewings, internal transfers & deal with tenancy end matters.
To deal with breaches of tenancy/licence agreements, including rent and service charge arrears, all areas of antisocial behaviour i.e. nuisance, harassment and misuse of property.
To liaise with external referring services e.g local authority, homeless prevention services.

Contracted hours: 35 hours per week within a flexible working pattern
Part time hours may be considered for the right candidate

Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) Check: We safeguard and promote the safety and welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Any job offer will depend on a satisfactory DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Barred List Disclosure Check. Due to the type of position this will be an enhanced check.

Annual leave: 21 days, plus all public and bank holidays. This will be pro rata according to your start date in the Annual leave year. Increasing from the holiday year following 2 years continuous service.

Please note: THIS POST REQUIRES A DRIVER WITH OWN TRANSPORT, FULL DRIVING LICENCE AND EXCLUSIVE ACCESS TO A RELIABLE CAR. A PARKING SPACE IS PROVIDED FOR THIS POST HOLDER.
