We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer focused individual to join our Rents team to support Nottingham City Homes tenants claiming Universal Credit.

We will look to you to provide an effective and customer focused housing income collection service, including the maximisation of rental income, carrying out home visits with tenants to ensure that appropriate advice and assistance is given to them to ensure their rent is paid as well as the recovery of outstanding arrears (current, former and insurance) and making agreements with tenants to pay outstanding debts.

It will be your responsibility to provide a proactive and dedicated service to our tenants to encourage responsible rent payment and ensure tenancy sustainability. It's also a chance to help tenants understand and claim their entitlement to benefits. You'll play a vital part in supporting tenants through the first period of their Universal Credit claims ensuring their awards are correct. You will also help with accessing bank accounts and general budgeting skills.

Fully up to date with housing and welfare benefits legislation and developments, you will have experience of supporting vulnerable customers to sustain their tenancies together, ideally, with some knowledge of rent collection. An excellent communicator, skilled at building relationships with other agencies in the voluntary/third sector, you will also have a sensitive yet professional approach.

In exchange you can expect a rewarding professional career where personal development is actively encouraged and supported. We offer exceptional company benefits within a very people focused business environment as well as a modern working environment with a strong emphasis on work life balance.
