As Transport Manager, you will lead the transport team to ensure operational compliance with statutory requirements and group policy, achievement of budgetary targets and contractual KPI's and the continuous development of the function in line with the division's strategic goals.

The role will include:

Providing leadership and direction to the team to ensure that they are engaged, focused, developed and delivering to their potential
Promoting and monitoring operational practices, using available tracking tools, to ensure that safety and compliance with the road traffic act are the critical priorities at all times
Overseeing the maintenance of the vehicle fleet to ensure compliance with the vehicle check and servicing practices, cleanliness, food safety requirements and leasing agreements
Maintaining close communication with Greencore sites and customers/depots to ensure that all parties are kept informed of any schedule or revised collection or delivery times
Establishing programs to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the transport schedules
Constructing budgets and associated drivers' rota and feeding back any required changes from the planning team
Reviewing resource plans in response to any changes so that the planning team can make required changes manage spend to ensure maximise cost efficiency whilst delivering on key business objectives
Ensuring use of Greencore handheld delivery technology to ensure accurate customer billing
Monitoring KPI and budget performance to identify and implement continuous improvement programmesJob DescriptionYou may not have heard of us, but we're sure you've tried our products. What we're looking for
Hold extensive previous experience in Transport Management within large distribution environments and understand strategic distribution modelling
Be a CPC holder - requirement to have a National CPC as you will be the O Licence holder for the Tamworth site
Have a proven track record of setting and managing budgets and promoting cost efficiency
Evidence delivering business improvement through the application of Lean practices
Have good knowledge of telematics (ISOTRAK or equivalent)
