Lead and manage expectations on daily packaging queries and of all packaging aspects:

Be the point of contact with packaging suppliers, and be the go to person for any packaging development or queries, sharing knowledge through training.

Sourcing alternative suppliers in line with business and budgetary requirements with support of the wider team.

Source and improve all packaging requirements for new and current products.

Proactive action with alerting relevant personnel of key dates and time frames.

Maintain relevant data bases with the latest information ie. Product codes, costs and suppliers.

Communicate with the NPD/ technical team on the use of correct cutter guides and packaging fit for purpose.

Supporting with labelling and legal requirements of specifications and artwork.

Support with packaging raw material issues on site.

Manage new packaging requirements from concept to launch and conduct post launch reviews/ audits.

Be able to draw on all knowledge of packaging and apply to new concepts.

Develop and brief packaging suppliers on new packaging requirements work within tight deadlines.

Trial and test initial concepts with support from the wider teams.

Complete packaging trials ensuring that packaging is fit for purpose; product security, dimension, and achievable shelf-life requirements.

Manage and design outer packaging, ensuring that all customer COP are met, pallet configuration and stability is of what is required.

Complete transit trials where needed with the relevant support from the wider team.

Lead packaging projects;

To lead all packaging projects ensuring the critical paths and sustainability requirements are met.

Organise and chair meeting on projects relevant in your area.

Ensure all new raw materials are approved prior to materials being used on site.

Be an active member of the Environmental team to maintain ISO14001, relaying detailed information to the wider business, and ensuring all packaging targets are being met year on year.

Work with suppliers to obtain mock artworks for initial innovation of artwork.

Support 3rd party audit when needed in respected area.


Relevant experience working with a packaging role; ideally food contact.

HACCP/ Food safety level 3

Accuracy, attention to detail and numerate approach to provide data on time in the right format.

Confident, articulate, and courteous communicator over the phone, face-to-face and in writing.

Highly flexible, competent, and adaptable and takes responsibility for own improvement.

Undertakes tasks with enthusiasm and always takes pride in his/her work. Communicates effectively at all levels, considers others' opinions, and always treats others with respect.
