Derwentside College's Engineering Department have developed long-standing partnerships with several leading engineering employers in the North East. As such, we are fortunate enough to be training some of the region's most talented trainee engineers.

We are seeking to appoint a Training Consultant who has the expertise and drive to match the expectations of our learners. The starting salary will depend upon an individual's level of qualifications and experience but a recruitment and retention premium is applicable to this role owing to the industry specialism.

Training Consultant - Salary up to GBP27,744 per annum, however this post attracts a recruitment and retention premium meaning the salary is up to GBP33,112 per annum.

What you will do?

In order to be successful as a Training Consultant, you will be passionate about engineering and particularly knowledgeable in mechanical manufacturing. You will also hold or be working towards a relevant teaching or assessing qualification and be capable of delivering excellent training both on and off-the-job.

You will have the industry experience that allows you to contextualise your teaching with specific examples, and you will be able to evidence professional development that gives you currency in the sector. Alongside your knowledge and experience in Mechanical systems and advanced manufacturing, you will have experience of delivering apprenticeship standards from level 2 to level 4 in Engineering.

Preferably, you will have taught on BTEC programmes and you will also be competent in delivering to apprentices, including conducting progress reviews, understanding the need to plan and deliver training according to the employers' requirements.

This is a permanent, full-time post. Regional travel will be required as part of the role; therefore use of your own transport, a current valid driving licence and business insurance is essential.
