Job Purpose

Group Finance is an important part of the Princes Group with dealings at a high level within the organisation. Reports will be completed for the Group Directors or Chief Executives directly and general reports which are distributed throughout the organisation.

The Financial Accountant is responsible for producing accurate and timely Group Financial Accounts and Other Reports / Presentations for Princes Limited and Mitsubishi Corporation.

Dimensions

The ability to complete, understand and report on a GBP2.0Bn turnover and GBP60M PTP consolidation with 8 statutory entities, 4 overseas branches and 12 dormant companies.

To provide critical financial support to the Chief Executives and Group directors with regular and frequent contact,

Provide monthly operational and commercial statistics and quarterly financial information to Mitsubishi Corporation.

Liaison with external auditors (senior manager) during quarterly and annual external audits and tax consultants (senior manager) for corporation tax queries.

Completion of financial information accurately with the Group finance team and within the deadlines set, examples of which include weekly forecast, monthly overhead reports, monthly consolidated accounts, quarterly Mitsubishi accounts submissions, twice yearly board meeting financial information, annual forecast and budget.

Communication across the various business areas is critical to enable completion of various monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc requests for information.

This role provides a key point of contact to all divisions, providing clarification of all Group Policies.

Principal Responsibilities

* Completion of the monthly Group Management Accounts pack for distribution to SDSB members and directors. This consists of preparing all the main accounts schedules and appendices.

* Completion of monthly private and confidential papers for distribution to SDSB members including analysis of overheads within cost centres, group reserve position and forecasting position.

* Completion of the consolidated monthly group P&L for group reporting, reconciling results and challenging any differences submitted by teams. Ensuring all Group division numbers are correct and variances to budget are analysed correctly.

* Completion of financial information provided to our parent company Mitsubishi e.g. monthly P&L's and Balance sheet.

* Completion of consolidated group weekly forecast with explanation of major movements to Group Directors.

* Accurate completion of reports and analysis for a twice yearly board meeting including responsibility for maintaining the master data file used in the presentation, updating main presentation throughout the process, compilation of detailed files for presentation to Group directors and SBA analysis work, reconciling back to the master data.

* Completion of reports for Mitsubishi being quarterly information for USGAAP and providing information for detailed presentations for a twice yearly board meeting.

* Responsibility for the production of quarter end Hedging schedules for submission to our parent company, including detailed analysis of creditors and GRIR information and maintaining of supplier database. Annual Hedging requirement including analysis of revenue & costs at sector level for submission to our parent company.

* Responsibility for accurate completion of monthly commission's and royalty reports to be issued to our parent company. Dealing with the authorisation process of the quarterly invoices and the ongoing reconciliation of the commission and royalties control accounts.

* Compilation of various quarter end schedules to assist the Group Finance Manager to complete the quarterly consolidation pack for our parent company. Items such as intergroup balances schedules and various balance sheet analysis work.

* Responsibility for the production and reconciliation of the monthly working capital model, including maintaining file for changes in business requirements. Posting of the product finance costs and budgeted finance recharges.

* Responsible for intercompany charges with 4 foreign subsidiaries which involves agreeing various cross charges on a monthly basis and raising an invoice on a quarterly basis for all agreed charges. Responsible for other ad-hoc recharges, internally and externally.

* Completion of detailed tax information for all UK statutory entities on an annual basis for the Group Tax Manager who completes our annual corporation tax returns.

* Responsible for all payroll control accounts reconciliations including providing support to the Payroll Manager. Monthly reporting to include analysing budget variances on a headcount basis and quarterly reporting of under/over accrual analysis for the annual bonus scheme.

* Responsibility for completion of the annual PAYE Settlement Agreement and ensuring payment is in accordance with HMRC deadlines.

* Responsibility for meeting various key controls as part of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting and assistance with on-going internal and external auditing of the processes.

* Ad-Hoc assistance in various other group reporting.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Degree educated or equivalent.

ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified / finalist preferably with a large firm although not entirely necessary.

Financial accounting experience through their first line job role.

Previous experience of preparing accounts packs.

A track record of producing good quality accurate work.

Ability to work to tight deadlines.

High attention to detail.

Good Excel knowledge.

Knowledge of SAP desirable.

Keen for a challenge in a hard working environment.

Ability to analyse detailed information.

Excellent written communication skills.

Ability to challenge when necessary
