NGS Technical Support Technician
Novogene Europe is hiring. We are looking for a Technical support technician to join our exciting team.
Our company is located in Cambridge in the prestigious Science Park. With headquarters in China and other branches in the US and Singapore, we are proud to say that we own the largest sequencing capacity in the world and provide genomic solutions using NGS and Third Generation Sequencing platforms. We are expanding quickly and are looking for aspiring and innovative researchers to join Novogene.
As a Technical support technician, you will have a pivotal role in solving problems, providing support for our sequencing products, liaising with customers, sales, colleagues and bioinformatics teams. Initially, it will be an office-based role and you will contact customers. You will have the opportunity to join the sales representative and meet the customers to provide technical solutions face-to-face.
Meeting people and making a good first impression would be a beneficial skill for this job as you will be the bridge of communication between customers and our company. Critical thinking an skills to problem solve as there will be complex issues between the instrumentation or software and the biological applications would also be advantageous. This position can be challenging but incredibly rewarding.
Your main responsibilities as a NGS Technical Support Technician
* Problem solving: communicate with the operations and bioinformatics team to address customer concerns and technical problems. This may include: issues related to experimental design, sequencing strategy and other pre-sales and after-sales questions.
* Market information collection: assist the sales team to collect information about potential customers and the market.
* Sales training: arrange training for the sales team to help improve their product knowledge.
* Project and follow-up: co-operate with the Project Manager to monitor the project activities and ensure of projects are delivered on time. Liaising with customers to keep them updated of the project status.
* Payment follow-up: work closely with the sales team to achieve the revenue goals.
* Documentation record: record, collect and analyse the sales performance, prepare official documents for the sales team.
* Attend conferences, make presentations and travel with sales team to provide direct scientific guidance to potential customers.
NGS Technical Support Technician Requirements
* Fluent English.
* PhD. / M.S plus previous lab experience in molecular biology, genetics and/or bioinformatics.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills required.
* Outstanding written and verbal communication as well as training skills.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software required.
* Must be very detail oriented.
* Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
* Experience with Next Generation Sequencing technology.
* Excellent understanding of software & bioinformatics/genetics, sequence alignment algorithms or related disciplines.
* Experience within a customer facing role in sales or support
