My client has been in business for over 50 years, specialising in distribution and warehousing and employ 300 people across 3 sites. Due to expansion, they are seeking an experienced warehouse manager to oversee a team of up to 30 based at their sub warehouse facility in Marchington.
Duties include:
* Full operational ownership across all areas of the operation to ensure full agreed service delivery
* Overseeing a team of warehouse operatives, MHE operators and administration clerks
* Review Monthly Resource Planning comparing real v forecast of volumes, volume profile and resources assigned
* Track % of overtime at site level and identify opportunities for improvement and ensure compliance with Working Time Directive (WTD)
* Work together with HR to drive engagement building a wellness culture within the site
* Track site overall turnover rate, understanding differences between shifts and leadership teams, escalate trends where appropriate
* Manage all aspects of effective management and supervision, training & development and employee relations of the wider team
* Conduct weekly meetings with subordinates to include the dissemination of Company messages through departmental managers
* Take operational ownership for Health & Safety Committee meetings and ensure key information is shared with senior manager, colleagues, and key stakeholders.
* Driving continuous improvement quarter-on-quarter based on removing barriers to improved performance for the department where necessary
* Review incident investigations within the workplace, respond to escalated issues of non-compliance and ensure relevant safety regulations and procedures are adhered to
* Update Monthly Resource Planning, based on volume and volume profile forecast (info from customer) and align actions needed with line manager if necessary (hiring, temporary labour, labour share, etc
* Communicate Objectives & KPIs applicable to your team, - including communication to new leaders on your team as part of the on-boarding process
* Ensure department is within budgets and monitor expenditure.
* Assist in the identification of additional and potential opportunities with the customer, reporting upwards as required
Skills Required
* Significant Logistics Management experience within a similar role in the Warehousing environment
* Demonstrable experience of gaining the best out of contracts for the betterment of the business
* Extensive man management experience
Working hours are Monday - Friday 08.00 - 17.30 - flexibility required to work outside of these hours and overtime as and when required
