RECRUITMENTiQ are working in partnership with a local farm that is currently seeking a Farm Worker.
Farm Worker - Pigs
We are a family run farm with approximately 800 sow split over two indoor high welfare units. We are now looking for a trainee pig stock person to join our small team on a unit near Devizes in Wiltshire.
This is a role where you will be working in the fresh air, get lots of exercise and will gain a real skill in animal husbandry.
You will be responsible for:
Feeding and cleaning out pigs on a daily basis (often with a pitch fork)
Learning to identify and treat sick animals
Tractoring out muck and moving animals about the farm
You must have:
A passion for working with animals and an insight into agriculture through college or previous experience
A driving licence
A high level of physical fitness
A strong work ethic and 100% reliability
Attention to detail, enthusiasm and stamina
The position is 32 hours a week working on a 4 days on, 4 days off basis which will include working every other weekend with some overtime. Training is provided and the starting salary is negotiable depending on experience but a hard working and highly motivated individual can quickly progress.
