Our client is an extremely well-established manufacturing business located in Wythenshawe and they are looking to recruit a Multi Skilled Engineer to join their business.
Report to: Manufacturing Engineer Manager
Purpose of the Multi Skilled Engineer position:
To ensure our factory breakdowns are kept to a minimum and respond to breakdowns quickly.
Key Responsibilities of a Multi Skilled Engineer:
* Using data supplied by stakeholders, repair, maintain and improve the reliability of our machines;
* Work on reduction of cell bulk;
* communicate accurate and relevant information to key stakeholders in a timely manner;
* To ensure machines are repaired promptly and to OEM standards;
* Work with the reliability team to identify repeat failures and suggest permanent repairs/ upgrades;
* To effectively communicate progress and completion to tasks to relevant stakeholders.
* To work with production to identify training needs of operators;
* Work with quality and technical to resolve current issues;
* Communicate with the setting team and production to ensure machines are repaired and handed back in the correct method;
* Use appropriate permits to work when required;
* Comply with department/ company procedures;
* ensure accurate completion of all engineering administration duties (electronic and paperwork);
* To prioritise workload in line with production;
Essential Requirements:
* Recognised Apprenticeship in Engineering
* NVQ 3 or equivalent city and guilds
* Experience in pneumatics and vacuum systems;
* Able to integrate well within a team and achieve results;
* Able to remain calm and maintain high standards of work in a pressurised and time-critical environment;
* Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills;
* Able to work on own initiative - identify solutions to problems and recommends improvements;
* Highly self-motivated - requires minimal supervision and is able to plan own workload to meet the needs of the business.
Desirable:
* Previous experience in a similar role;
* An ONC would be a distinct advantage;
* PLC Programming and diagnostics - Mitsubishi, Siemens and Omron.
Need to understand ladder logic and be able to fault find using the PLC programme;
* Awareness of Safety and CE Regulations;
* Understanding of Six Sigma;
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing;
Shift: Rotating Days/Nights (4 on 4 off - at 2 days and 2 night's rotation)
Hours: 7am to 7pm when on Days, and then 7pm to 7am when on nights.
Holiday Entitlement: 22 Days per year
Overtime: Available, paid at a basic hourly rate.
