We are currently recruiting for a passionate Learning Support Assistant with experience supporting students with special or complex emotional/behavioural needs.

You will be joining a brilliant school for boys aged 9 to 16 who have social, emotional and mental health needs, some students also have moderate learning and attachment difficulties, which can in turn lead to displaying behaviours that challenge.

There are no more than 6 students in each teaching group, meaning that each lesson is carefully planned to consider the needs, interests and abilities of each individual student to ensure purposeful learning and engagement.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be working 1:1 with students to build their confidence and self-esteem whilst also supporting their academic, social, and developmental needs.

If successful, you will be joining a team of very supporting and welcoming staff that feel passionate making a difference to every student. The school support all their staff with regular training and career development opportunities to enable them to develop their skills and expertise to be able to better support their students.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Own transport is desirable but not essential due to a semi-rural location.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Providing the support and care for the students throughout their school day

* Interact in lessons to support the student's engagement

* Teach students 1:1 when required

* Support the student's development of independence and positive behaviour

* Participating in weekly CPD for your personal development

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and capabilities:

* A passion to learn and develop

* Resilience and patience when working with students

* Ability to see development and positive progress in every student no matter ability

* Being able to deal with conflicts in a calm manner

* Experience working with children or young people who have social, emotional and mental health needs
