A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a customer focused individual to control the movement of vehicles entering and leaving site and to ensure all materials are deposited accurately in accordance with company and licensing requirements. You will have knowledge of licensing requirements also and have good IT skills. Must have experience using a weighbridge to weigh cars/ lorries going over the bridge.
This is a permanent role from day one and involves customer facing, requiring good customer skills ensuring the company brand and image remains at its best.
Working Monday to Friday, 7.00am - 17.30pm and two Saturday mornings a month until 12.00.
Role requirements:
1. To control the movement of all vehicles entering and leaving site to ensure all materials are deposited accurately and in accordance with licensing requirements, including the rejection of any non-compliant loads.
2. Maintain both written and electronic records for all waste types received, ensuring they comply with specified legal waste descriptions and weights.
3. To ensure all tickets are signed by the Customer and the Weighbridge Operator.
4. Maintain the weighbridge and general area of the weighbridge, including the office, in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
5. General administrative and customer service duties, such as answering the telephone, responding to emailed queries and liaising face to face with customers.
6. Remain in regular communication with site operatives to monitor undeclared items.
7. Completion of Hazardous Waste Consignment Notes as required.
8. To make customers aware of the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements on site (Hard Hat, High Viz, appropriate footwear), and to deal with PPE sales if they do not already have them.
9. To monitor stocks of PPE and to inform others when stocks are running low so that replacement items can be ordered.
10. You must adhere to all Company Policies & Procedures (including but not limited to) those specified in the Employment Handbook, H&S Policy, EMS System, Management System and any financial / accounting systems.
11. From time-to-time you may be required to provide holiday or sickness cover for weighbridges at other company sites.
12. Apart from the duties summarised in your Role Profile, the company reserve the right to include other reasonable duties which are part of, and incidental to, this type of work.
Key accountabilities, responsibilities and authority:
. To ensue efficient daily processing of information and data onto the company's respective software systems.
. Provide sufficient support, including information about licensing requirements to customers, regulators and colleagues.
. Checking of all loads to ensure compliance with site licence against EWC Codes.
. Ensure that the policies of the company are adhered to at all times.
Skills, knowledge and experience:
1. Ideally prior knowledge and experience of the recycling industry but not essential as full training can be provided.
2. Experience in operating weighbridge systems.
3. Knowledge of site licensing requirements/EWC Codes.
4. This is a customer facing role requiring good customer skills best suited to someone with an outgoing personality.
5. Enthusiastic and committed person capable of working with others - good team player.
6. Capable of operating the company's IT systems including MS Office (word processing), MS Outlook (Emails), Excel and InfoTech BridgeMont Plus weighbridge system.
7. Assertiveness and ability to stand by a decision when a load does not meet requirements.
