Looking to gain experience in a wide variety of secondary schools before committing to a full time role?
Struggling to gain a permanent role for the new academic year (September 2021)?
Are you currently, or soon to be, a Newly Qualified English, Maths, or Science Teacher?
Academics work in close partnership with secondary schools located Stoke-on-Trent who are looking for Newly Qualified Teachers for daily supply (and cover) and short and long-term contracts.
Our supply teaching opportunities are great as they allow our staff to be flexible with the days that they wish to work and therefore can be ideal for Newly Qualified Teachers as these roles could lead to more long-term and permanent roles in some of our schools.
We ultimately focus your job search around you and look to provide you with the type of work you are looking for.
Candidates who apply for this particular teaching role will:
Hold the relevant teaching qualification in English, Maths, or Science (PGCE, B. Ed or BA Hons) with both a Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) and Newly Qualified Teaching Status (NQT).
Have strong subject knowledge in your subject specialism across Key Stage 3 and 4. Key Stage 5 knowledge would be desirably, but not essential.
Have a can-do, positive, and confident attitude.
Be able to establish routines and disciplinary strategies by following the schools own behaviour policies.
Be a good team player so that you are able to work closely with fellow staff members and ultimately can maximise students learning together.
Hold a current Enhanced DBS that is registered with the update service or to be happy to apply for a new Enhanced DBS with ourselves (cost applied).Once registered with Academics you will have a dedicated consultant who will support you with the start of your teaching career, and additionally who will give you access to a variety of flexible opportunities, all at great rates of pay.
