The Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Emergency Response and Security Manager to join our dedicated team based at Stanlow. The role will lead and develop Essar’s Emergency Response and Security Policies, strategies and improvement plans, working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the highest level of performance.
Key areas of focus and accountabilities include:
The successful candidate will be responsible for training and leadership to ensure best practice, whilst building key relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You will be a subject matter expert for the relevant aspects associated with emergency preparedness and response, including the security and visitors section of the organisation’s integrated management system. You will also be a member of multiple internal and external forums, which will include both local authorities and national agencies. Accountabilities include:
To manage the Emergency Control Centre during incidents, together with supporting and training the management team for site emergencies. Carrying out a review of all significant emergency responses by way of debrief, using any learning to develop Pre-Incident Plans
Delivering agreed services based on Stanlow plans and strategies and managing the budget
Assuring compliance with relevant HSE legislation
Supporting standards and helping set boundaries for shift advanced first aiders (AFAs)
About You
Our ideal candidate should have substantial experience of working in refinery operations or an upper tier COMAH site, with extensive knowledge of COMAH regulations and dealing with external regulators and stakeholders. Significant experience of working in an Operations/Emergency Response and Security environment would be advantageous.
Proven experience at both an operational and tactical level, particularly in a range of emergency situations, as well as designing and leading training for practical and planning aspects of Emergency Response is required. Knowledge and a proven ability to manage key emergency response equipment is expected. The role will also include the management of budget and line manager responsibility.
The successful candidate will need to possess excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, due to the multifaceted aspects of the role.
