The Role
To undertake Design Engineer duties within the engineering department functioning as a member of a multi discipline Engineering Office.
Delivering engineering projects from initial kick off to close out and liaising with Clients from initial enquiry and throughout the project.
Applicants should possess a degree in mechanical engineering, or have equivalent experience, and have a strong background in the use of 3-D mechanical CAD design software with a sound knowledge of established drawing standards and design methods including a good understanding and working knowledge of piping codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, API, ANSI).

Responsibilities
Ability to manage your own workload, working independently or as part of a team.

Assist in the preparation of CTR's and man hour estimates.
Create and respond to technical queries.
Carry out site surveys, both on and offshore, UKCS and overseas where required gathering detailed survey information and producing survey reports.
Carry out 3D modelling & design activities of piping systems & supports.
Draught & check detailed design drawings of piping systems & supports in accordance with industry standards, codes and client specifications.
Prepare & check materials take-offs and bill of materials.
Provide technical input during detailed engineering of projects.
Provide support and input into the preparation of construction workpacks and certification documentation.
Responsible for technical decision making associated with any given scope of work.
Establish good working relationships and communication with discipline leads, department managers and clients.
Understanding and application of the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).
Understanding and application of the pipe stress analysis.
Manage drafting of test packs, piping specifications, P&IDs, Isometrics, and other engineering drawings including plant piping system blue prints.
Provide technical expertise in the delivery of static, thermal, and dynamic analyses of process piping in accordance with industry codes.
Provide technical support and expertise ensuring that piping systems are adequately supported to reduce vibration levels, checking nozzle loads conform to applicable codes, and creating technical reports.
Manage the material and component specification for piping systems.
Oversee fabrication, assembly and erection of piping systems.
Responsible for maintenance and updating of examination, inspection and testing of piping procedures and processes.
You are
We are looking for a person with a Degree (BEng/BSc) or Higher National Engineering qualification or equivalent experience with a willingness to develop further education. Previous experience in Mechanical design and an ability to deliver client solutions would be advantageous.
