This role

Caring is at the heart of what we do at Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing. It is an integral part of the company and something we pride ourselves in as being the best. If you are a caring individual, one who wants to support people to live the best lives they can, then this is the role for you.

We have an amazing opportunity for two Care & Support Worker roles within one of our Extra Care services based in Rushcliffe. All our customers in this service are older people, and our aim is to support them to maintain a dignified standard of living whilst giving them the tools to do so as independently as possible.

As well as supporting our customers with their personal care, you will also be encouraging inclusivity within the service. Helping them develop relationships with other residents and improving social skills. You will become a significant support to them throughout their residency at Hilton Grange and as such would be a pivotal part of the team.

Your named base will be Hilton Grange in West Bridgford but with an understanding that some shifts hours may be worked in other services. This will give you a wide variety of the different services we offer and will enable you to further develop your career in Care & Support.

We take pride in having such a great team at MTVH, and this starts from developing colleagues from the inside out. Because of this, we offer full training for those who have the desire and compassion for Care & Support. This training will ensure you provide personalised care and support services to our customers to ensure they are living life with dignity.

This role does require you to work flexibly to ensure individual needs are met while maximising independence, choice, privacy, and well-being, in collaboration with the Senior Care & Support Workers/Team Leaders.

What youll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, previous experience is ideal. We are seeking individuals who can provide a caring and supportive service to our customers whilst helping them feel dignified throughout. You will demonstrate you understand what good support looks like appropriate to the age, gender, disability, race, religion, and sexuality of the customer to improve their quality of life and independence.

This position is for an average of 16 hours a week, but hours will be spread over a fortnightly rota You will need to be able to start at 7am for early shifts and finish at 10pm on late shifts. These shifts will be on a flexible rota including every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) along with working bank holidays.

To meet our commitment to providing safe, high quality services to our customers we will complete an enhanced background check with the Disclosure and Barring service, which will include a check of the Adult Barred list once an offer of employment is made.

Due to these care needs we can only accept applications from females. (Sch. 9 s. 1 (1) Equality Act 2010 applies).

You?ll be working in a fast-paced environment where you can benefit from our comprehensive in-house training to continue developing your skills. We offer excellent benefits, including:
