Headteacher

St Peters CofE Primary School, Rendle Street, Plymouth, Devon PL1 1TP

Salary L8 to L13

Starting September 2021

Are you looking to truly enrich the lives of children and their families? St Peter’s CofE Primary School is in the heart of Plymouth and serves a diverse catchment with above average levels of deprivation. The school serves children from age 2-11 through the addition of a teacher-led nursery as well as extended school provision. The school is a focal point for the immediate community and we are looking for an extra special leader who can enable the potential there and increase aspirations. Having been successfully supported by St Christopher’s Trust since Autumn 2020, St Peter’s will officially become part of STCMAT on 1st April 2021.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively forging strong links with the Trust and local community. A learning centred leader, you will have a deep understanding of how children learn and have a strategic approach to removing barriers, creating the best possible educational experience for pupils. Your previous track record as a proven senior leader or headteacher will ensure that you have the skills to lead our motivated teaching team.

We are looking for someone who;

  • Has passion, drive and relentless energy
  • Has the core belief that every child can succeed regardless of their background or starting point
  • Experience at senior leadership or headship with evidence of impact
  • Experience of leading or developing SEND provision
  • Experience of leading whole school change and winning hearts and minds
  • Ability to forge excellence relationships with the parents and wider community
  • A willingness to work in true collaboration as part of a multi academy Trust.
  • An understanding of, and desire to be, a Church school leader.

Our School and Trust can offer:

  • A supportive, collaborative Trust community that will enable you to focus on the core business of teaching and learning.
  • Delightful children and a committed teaching team who are ready to fly.
  • Commitment to your professional learning, including a programme of supervision.
  • A thorough induction programme specifically tailored to your needs and experience.
  • A spacious, recently modernised school building with delightful grounds, hidden in the centre of the city and with further potential for you to make your mark.
  • A great group of Plymouth Trust school leaders with whom to work in partnership.

For more information, please visit the school’s website: st-peterscofe.plymouth.sch.uk. We would encourage you to arrange a discussion about the role with Sean Millar, Director of School Improvement by emailing sean.millar@stcmat.org. To visit the school please 01752 667724 to request a time.
