Pure are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced HSEQ Manager, for a well established and ever growing organisation, on the outskirts of Ipswich. The company, who specialise in recycling and waste solutions, are seeking a proactive, organised and approachable individual, who can maintain safety standards, implement new policies and bring expert knowledge to risk assessments and operational compliance.

Monday - Friday, 07:30 - 17:00 (some flexibility available). NEBOSH Qualified.

Duties Required:

To provide a logical approach to Health, Safety, Compliance, Environmental and Quality matters
Maintain operational compliance with Environmental permits
Accountable for compliance throughout the business on the above, with strict reporting duties on non compliance and actions.
Use expert knowledge and experience, to control risks at work and ensure that the business meets current safety standards.
Plan and implement new policies and procedures, to raise or maintain safety standards, monitoring and reviewing those policies and procedures to ensure their effectiveness
Implementing new protective and preventative measures, as required by law
As a health and safety adviser, you will use your knowledge and skills to promote a positive health and safety culture in the business.
Review compliance systems and methods as necessary to meet changing needs of the company, develop where needed and roll out training as appropriate
Overview of staff training requirements, priorities and implementation.
Maintaining and upholding the Competent Management system (CMS)
To interpret compliance standards and apply industry context to ensure efficient use of resources, supporting the enforcement of policies and recommend actions
Implement policies, procedures, and systems to supply, collate and report out quality data for debate at management meetings
Study existing and new legislation, staying current on industry standards for environment and quality
To be able to carry out internal audits and inspections for both Health and Safety and ISO Standards
Complete Stop Work Authority
To analyse data from near miss reports and propose practicable accident prevention plans in high risk activities
Advise on CDM regulations for new projects and installations
Experience and Knowledge:

• Waste and recycling industry experience desirable
• Experience of conducting suitable and sufficient dynamic field based risk assessment under pressure
• NEBOSH general certificate
• Consistent application of the hierarchy of controls
• 3-5 years of experience in related field
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 / 9001 & CMS and the Environmental Agency
• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
• Confidence to hold safety conversations at a technical level with manager
• Research, reporting and strong statistical analysis skills
