Contract type: Fixed Term until 31st December 2021
Hours: 35 hours per week (Full-time - working hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm but flexible working arrangements can be discussed)

Salary:GBP19,590 per annum pro rata (salary includes market supplement of GBP1,887 per annum)

Could you support the lives of refugees in the Leicester area?

We are looking for a Caseworker to join our refugee support team on a fixed term basis.

What you will be doing

The refugee support service is a busy service which provided casework support and humanitarian assistance to over 2,300 service users in 2020. We are looking for a dynamic, hardworking and flexible caseworker to help deliver critical casework and destitution support to those in need during this pandemic and to enable those granted refugee status and leave to remain to move on, rebuild their lives and integrate into their local community.

As part of the Refugee Support and Restoring Family Links team, you will be responsible for delivering casework services for refugees, asylum seekers and other vulnerable migrants in the Leicester area. You will undertake a range of duties designed to develop, maintain, and promote the service as outlined in the job profile attached. This is a diverse team of staff and volunteers.

In this role you will provide high quality, person-centred, support to refugee's in the area. You will support service users to access essential services and become familiar with their local area through the provision of information, advice, advocacy and practical help. You will also work with service users to help them assess their needs, identify personal goals, and develop and implement casework action plans.

You have experience of delivering casework with vulnerable clients and can collaboratively work with cross-agency partnerships.

You understand issues relating to asylum seekers, refugees, and other vulnerable migrants.

You are IT literate, a strong communicator with the ability to adapt your communication based on the audience and have experience in providing sensitive, safe, and empowering support to distressed people in vulnerable situations.
