The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016, requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

An opportunity has arisen within Building & Technical Services for a Mechanical Surveyor to work within the Council’s corporate buildings across the Bradford District.

We are looking to recruit a Mechanical Surveyor, who will be part of the Mechanical and Electrical team within Building and Technical Services.

You will be required to carry out a variety of mechanical related duties across the whole of the council’s property portfolio including schools, public buildings, offices, etc.

You will work closely with Senior Officers/Management within the service and other Department’s across the council.

Be responsible for ensuring that Buildings are maintained, modified and/or constructed to the highest possible standards consistent with the level of finance available and due regard being paid to Legislation, Council Policies, Statutory Regulations and Standing Orders.

You will have:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role as a Mechanical Surveyor or 5 years’ relevant experience in a Mechanical Management related post.
  • Have a minimum 5 years’ experience in the design of H.V.A.C. systems in public buildings and Educational establishments.
  • Hold a minimum HNC qualification in Building Services Engineering.
  • Have experience in using a range of specialist ICT systems including CAD, Revit, MS Project, and NBS.
