(SC Cleared) DWP - Software Engineer (Inside IR35)
Contract: 6 months
Location: Blackpool/Home based
Authority: Department for Work and Pensions
Are you an experienced DWP Software Engineer with a valid SC Clearance? Do you have a strong background working with DWP VME or VME-R systems? If so PSR would like to speak to you!
Background:
As Software Engineer, you will be involved in the development of VME-R systems utilising AWS environments and Visual Studio for code changes
Core Purpose:
- Software development on remediated VME systems - specifically JSAPS & ISCS
- Experience of the application Infrastructure. VME Legacy systems (Cobol) - Moved into VME-R (Cobol based code, rather complex)
Technical Skills Required:
- VME/VME-R Experience
- IDEs like Visual Studio
- Developing for cloud environments like AWS and knowledge of cloud principles.
- Cobol, including Object Orientated Cobol and Microfocus Cobol
- Relational databases, for example SQL
- Experience of testing software, for example unit testing, perf and load testing
You'll have:
- A valid and active SC Clearance
- Previous experience of Opstrat & VME systems - development and design
- Advanced Modern Systems software stack
- OSMP
- ISCS/JSAPS
Desirable:
- Tuxedo
- Oracle
