The Company:
A knitwear Sample Machinist is needed to join an established fast fashion knitwear supplier to some of the most exciting retailers on the high street and online. You must be
competent in taking a design from sketch to spec to finished sample.
The Role:
* Putting garments together using various sewing machines.
* Working on a variety of machinery to create samples.
* Following fabric, colour and size instructions.
* Altering machinery to match different fabric properties.
* Constructing garments to a high standard.
* Interpreting sketches given to by Designer.
* Carrying out a range of technical, investigative and quality control work.
* Attending fit meetings.
* Improving quality and fit of garments for purpose.
* Costing garments.
* Approving lab dips.
Skills Required:
* MUST have strong technical knowledge of knitwear.
* Competent in taking designs from sketch to finished sample.
* Thorough knowledge of garment making and construction.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to work in fast paced environment.
* Awareness of the high street and the overall market.
* Good eye for product and design.
* Keen eye for shape and proportion.
* Interest in fashion and trends.
