This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to operational accounting procedures and management accounting whilst working closely and building strong working relationships with our site operational teams.
Purpose of the Role:
As the Assistant Accountant you will provide support to the plant finance and operational teams with a range of financial administration, management accounting and the production of monthly, weekly and ad-hoc reports.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Assisting with the completion of weekly Operational & Financial reports and analysis
Supporting the monthly Forecast and annual Budget process
Ad Hoc activities as requested to support the provision of management information
Provide insight that supports operational performance improvement and financial control of the Hereford and Newent plants.
To provide support & assistance with projects
Weekly stock reconciliation and financial reporting
Coldstore reconciliation and investigate variances
Daily and weekly site reports in conjunction with operations team including, Yield reporting and KPIs incl. trends
Assist the Operational teams to track their Profit Improvement Plans
Tracking of weekly labour and overtime
Reviewing weekly packaging and ingredient wastage and preparing lost opportunity cost reports
Providing support and assistance with a variety of projects
Provide absence cover for the Operations Finance team as and when needed
Assist with or provide cover with PO controls and analysis
GRNI reports
Collate and present expenditure by department v budget to relevant budget holders / managers
Update, set up and monitoring of product costings to ensure costing process is timely and efficientWhat we are looking for:
Finance Apprentice or AAT part / fully qualified - looking to study for an Accountancy qualification
Strong numerical skills with the ability to deal with large amounts of data
IT literate and be comfortable using multiple systems
Excellent working knowledge of Excel eg VLookups Data Sorting, Pivot
Strong attention to detail
Self-motivated with a commitment to complete all required tasks
Able to meet deadlines and prioritise work effectively
Self-Starter, keen to develop business knowledge to facilitate improvement in processes
Sets themselves high standards and motivates others to work to themA little more about us
