Electronics Technician (Mobile Technology)

As one of the globes largest wholesalers of electronics components, my client has seen success across the world, including their division in Peterborough.
Based on this success, they are now developing a high-quality repair centre and wish to recruit a suitably experienced and trained Electronics Technician to part of this growth.
In addition to this exciting new phase in the business, future plans include broadening out their partnering with some of the worlds most recognised mobile media manufacturers.

There are also plans to work closely with relevant partners across the UK, so you can be part of this exciting growth.

Please be aware that we will not be considering applications that would require an excessive commute or relocation.


As an Electronics Technician you will:

Be hands on and carry out repairs on damaged or faulty mobile technology. This could include swapping displays, battery replacement, power supply testing and similar component repair
Provide testing on electronic equipment to ensure issues are rectified (all equipment comes with a 1 year guarantee after repair)
Advise customers on the best course of action and related costs
Recording your methods and creating Best Work Practices and Workflow Manuals for colleagues to follow
Dealing face to face with the end user and building a good customer experience for them
Working with and advising external partners on repair methods, typical solutions and generally being the Go To PersonThis will be an incredibly dynamic role, so the ability to plan your workload and prioritise tasks, as well as being able to react to change, is vital to you being a success


In order to be considered for this Electronics Technician role it is expected that you will:

Carry relevant qualifications relating to your craft. HNC/HND or similar vocational qualifications would be the minimum
Strong electronic repair experience, ideally with mobile technology (phones, tablets, laptops etc.) or similar
Accurate soldering skills and ability to either follow or create Workflow manuals and SOPs
The ability to prioritise and manage your workload, whilst remaining flexible to meet business needs
Solid communication skills and the ability to provide accurate technical information in a clear and concise manner - face to face, on the phone or via the written word
Other I.T skills based around the usual Microsoft Office suite (Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Internet / Email etc.)
