Assystem is recruiting for an Internal Assurance and Regulation Manager to be based in Derby on a contract basis. This role can be based remotely but with the expectation of infrequent site visits.

In this role, you will be an independent source of advice and challenge the management of hazards and risk associated with the operations and activities on a nuclear licenced site and the associated generation, maintenance, implementation, and compliance with documented arrangements so the business operates safely and remains compliant with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.

Hours: 37 hours per week with flexible hours
Duration: 6 months +
Contract type: PAYE via UmbrellaKey accountabilities in this role:

Provide a source of independent specialist advice and guidance on all matters associated with their area of subject matter expertise to the wider business in support of its decision-making processes, organisational learning, and interpretation of legal requirements and regulatory compliance.

Undertake planned assessment, surveillance, and concurrence activities.

Report all findings, outcomes, and conclusions in a timely manner, such that areas of safety, security, and environmental concern, regulatory compliance, or non-agreement are clearly identified and formally communicated to internal stakeholders.

Provide independent advice, guidance, and recommendations to the Licensee, their Agent, and relevant Duty Holders to enable future improvement in safety and environmental performance and regulatory compliance on the Nuclear Licensed Sites.

What we are looking for in applications:

Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering, Scientific, or Mathematics).
Experience of working on a Nuclear licensed site
Detailed understanding of the nuclear regulatory requirements and expectations for a nuclear licensed site as well as general awareness of relevant UK legislation, industry good practice, and regulatory guidance relevant to safety, the environment, and security**Security clearance is required**
