Responsible to: Head of Delivery

Location: Across all of England (this role may require a significant amount of travel)

Key Purpose

To provide a high standard of inspirational training, assessment, support and review to a caseload of Apprentices across the Supply Chain and Health Safety and Environment sectors ensuring they successfully complete their apprenticeship within the agreed timeframe of their Individual Learning Plan and company Key Performance Targets.

Specific Responsibilities

1. Learner Administration:

The post holder will be responsible for the administration of the learners within their allocated caseload. In this respect the Post Holder will:

Ensure the learner has been correctly enrolled onto a programme of study for which they are eligible and is appropriate to their job role and academic level.

Complete all "on programme" paperwork in accordance with ESFA funding guidelines ensuring minimum error risk.

Ensure all completion paperwork is correctly signed off and returned to the main office within an acceptable timeframe.

1. Teaching, Learning, Assessment & Coaching

The Post Holder will be required to provide and support inspirational teaching, learning and assessment for a caseload of Apprentices. This will typically require (but not exhaustive) the Post Holder to:

Induct all learners onto their appropriate programme of study.

Create, agree and review assessment/learning plans for each learner.

Collate evidence of teaching, learning and assessment using the e-portfolio system

Maintain regular contact (at a minimum monthly) with learners using a variety of communication methods (face to face visits, e-portfolio, email, telephone, Skype etc.) ensuring a record of all contact is maintained and evidenced for compliance.

Use a variety of assessment methods to collect evidence ensuring the evidence collected meets the standards set out by the qualification and provide the learner with detailed feedback on performance.

Create a range of inspirational learning resources required for your learners to generate evidence against the required criteria of the apprenticeship programmes you deliver.

Teach specific knowledge based workshops to groups of apprentices.

Carry out regular (every 10 weeks) knowledge, skills and behaviour assessments with the learner and their employer to monitor and measure progress, identify any issues/problems and recognise success and good performance. Reviews will include the delivery and monitoring of functional skills (where required) Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding, PREVENT and British Values.

Coach, support and prepare the learner for the End Point Assessment (EPA) conducting, mock tests in all elements of the EPA. When appropriate gain agreement with the learner and employer that the learner is suitably trained to undertake the EPA.

Provide support and signpost information, advice and guidance for all learners through and situation or circumstance whether pastoral or professional.

1. Functional Skills Delivery:

The Post Holder will be required to provide teaching and learning in Functional Skills English and Maths to level 2. The Post Holder will:

* Ensure all learners are registered and inducted on the BKSB system prior to enrolment and initial assessments are completed within an agreed timeframe to identify their current academic level.

* Once enrolled diagnostic assessments are completed within an agreed timeframe and a learning plan is created with targets and resources to develop the knowledge required to pass their test.

1. Invigilation:

The Post Holder will be required to invigilate a combination of written, verbal and online tests and assessments. In respect of this the Post Holder will:

* Conduct all tests, and assessments in line with awarding body and the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) Guidelines.

1. Key Performance Targets:

We have a suite of Key Performance Indicators that measure performance for the company. Some of which relate to learner and tutor/teacher/work coach performance (see staff handbook for more detail). The Post Holder will be expected to fully engage and contribute to the company's Key Performance Targets through:

* Learner Progress

* Compliance Report (monthly contact, knowledge, skills and behaviour assessments)

* Employer Satisfaction

* Learner Satisfaction

1. Employer Engagement:

The Post Holder will be expected to engage with employers where delivery is conducted. Professional standards are explained in detail in the Staff Handbook however the tutor/teacher/work coach will be expected to:

* Provide an introduction to the learner and employer.

* Maintain excellent working relationships with the learner and employer.

* Notify the employer (Apprentice's Line Manager) when on site visits are being conducted.

* Involve the employer (Line Manager or other delegated person) in learner knowledge, skills and behaviour assessments.
