Based in Huddersfield, this growing business within the manufacturing sector benefits from a great reputation within their sector. They are looking for a bright and capable Assistant Accountant to join their friendly team and support the Finance Director.
The offices are easily accessible from Barnsley, Huddersfield and Wakefield.
The Job
This varied and interesting role will include the following duties:
Inputting invoices and credit notes on to the sales and purchase ledger.
Allocating bank payments, applying discounts where necessary.
Reviewing rebates and posting to the ledger.
Producing customer statement.
Use Excel to produce account statements to larger suppliers.
Reviewing self-billing invoices and raising queries where applicable.
Processing customer refunds.
Credit Control Management.
Daily & Weekly bank reconciliations.
Delivery notes allocations.
Sign off repair & maintenance invoices by line managers.
Review account statements and request missing invoices & credit notes.
Process BACS and priority payment runs (weekly and monthly).
Produce Remittance Advice.
Month end reporting for sales and purchases to the finance director.
Daily data back-ups of the account's software.
Journal Entries.
Ad hoc TasksThe Person
Sales ledger / purchase ledger experience
Excellent written and verbal skills are essential
Good MS Excel skills
Friendly and approachable
The ability to prioritise workloads, work to deadlines, and manage time efficiently is required
You must have strong numerical skills, and a high degree of accuracy with dataThe Benefits
