My Loughborough based client are looking for a Move On and Reconnection Officer to join them on a full time but temporary basis covering the District and Boroughs across Leicestershire and Rutland. You will work with residents in temporary accommodation to assist and facilitate them to move out into permanent accommodation.

You will manage a caseload of households and work with them to identify and agree suitable alternative housing options according to their individual circumstances which meet their housing needs.

The role is working Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5pm paying GBP12.95 per hour. You must be a driver with access to your own vehicle for this role.

Duties are varied but include:

* Coordinating the transition of individuals from rough sleeping or temporary accommodation into longer term accommodation

* Identifying accommodation and support needs and objectives at the earliest possible opportunity and supporting individuals to access accommodation and support services

* Providing housing advice and signposting and referring individuals to accommodation options and pathways and related support services

* Working with housing authorities and partners to achieve successful move ons and reconnection

* Supporting individuals to access and engage with accommodation and supporting providers

* Supporting individuals with their personalised journey of recovery, assisting them to secure and sustain accommodation, maximise income, establish/re-establish and build up support and recovery networks and improve health and well-being

* Maintaining regular contact with individuals and regularly monitoring and reviewing progress

* Receiving and actioning referrals and coordinating the support required to achieve successful move-ons and reconnections

* Carrying out support and risk assessments on individuals and identifying any potential staff or public safeguarding concerns in conjunction with other agencies and organisations

To be considered for the role you must:

* Have an NVQ3/equivalent in Housing/related subject OR previous relevant experience in the area

* Have experience of homelessness prevention, housing advice or related work

* Have experience of tenancy support or related work

* Have experience of casework

* Have experience of working in a multi-agency environment

* Have experience of working with vulnerable people in complex situations

* Have homelessness knowledge and experience

* Have knowledge of benefit maximisation and rents
