Position:

Engage in the effective delivery of residential childcare in accordance with Company policies and procedures.

Maintain good professional practices in accordance with the Quality standards for children's homes, and The Children's home regulations 2015

Help create a positive environment for each young person with particular reference to his or her safety, health and education.

You will be working with young people with mental health needs and high-risk challenging behaviours.

Salary:

Without Diploma Level 3 - GBP8.90 With Diploma Level 3 - GBP9.10

This position will also include up to 10 sleeps per month at GBP52 per sleep.

Relevant Experience and Knowledge

Essential

Ability to be able to manage conflict/challenging behaviour
Ability to maintain home records
Must be IT literate
Must be able to complete records to a high standard (such as daily records)
Ability to plan and prioritise workload.
Ability to maintain sound professional judgement when working under pressure.
Ability to demonstrate flexibility and initiative.
Ability to learn and develop new skills.
Must be prepared to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as requested.
To sleep-in as required.
Must be a driver with a car and business insurance, and be prepared to use for young people
Be prepared to attend regular training

Desirable

A minimum of 12 month's experience of child care work in a relevant setting
Good standard of education achieved.
Knowledge of child care law.
Knowledge of child care protection issues.
Knowledge of Social Care Inspection Framework (SCCIF)
Knowledge of Quality standards and Children's homes Regulations

Qualifications

Essential

Good level of applied literacy and numeracy - to be prepared to undertake training /qualification as benefits the role.

Desirable

Care related award for e.g. NVQ 3 in caring for Children and Young People level 3 / Diploma Level 3
